About Alex

Alex Ann Allen is a traveling muralist based in South Bend, Indiana, who transforms spaces through vibrant interior and exterior murals. Working primarily in aerosol and acrylic, her style specializes in portraiture and geometric color portals that merge abstraction with realism, bringing stories, brands, and communities to life through bold color and large-scale public art.

Self-taught, Alex began painting seventeen years ago and took the leap into full-time mural work seven years ago. She has completed over 100 murals across 22 cities and 6 states, working on commercial and residential projects for national brands—including Bleacher Report, Zelle, and Verizon Wireless—as well as schools and community organizations.

Deeply committed to community engagement, Alex leads art talks and workshops and is the founder and curator of Mural Mania, an annual mural festival in her hometown. In 2025, she received the Visionary Award from the South Bend Civic Theatre for her contributions to the city’s arts and cultural landscape.
